Cops on the hunt for Peeping Tom at Tapah petrol station toilet

IPOH: Police are looking for a man who allegedly peeped on a woman inside a toilet at a petrol station in Tapah.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the incident happened at about 4.50pm on Aug 5.

Comm Mohd Yusri said the 33-year-old woman realised someone was watching her from the top of the cubicle as she was using the toilet.

"She then ran out of the toilet, and later lodged a police report.

"Checks on the CCTV footage at the station showed a man behaving suspiciously outside the toilet, and after the victim entered the toilet, he followed her inside as well.

"He was seen leaving in a silver Toyota Avanza, registered under the name of a person whose address was in Pusing," he said.

Comm Mohd Yusri said efforts to trace the suspect are ongoing based on the car’s vehicle registration plate.

"The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code," he added.
